Education Cuts Spark Rallies Across New York (WCBS-TV New York)

Hundreds of outraged students, parents, and teachers gathered outside Gov. David Paterson’s office on Thursday night to protest against school closings, budget cuts, and tuition hikes – all part of his proposed budget that would cut $1.4 billion from state education. In New York City, nine protests were organized by multiple education groups throughout the city’s five boroughs.
